Coffee Mocha
Protein Shake
Working on eating balanced meals that contain protein, carbs, and fat each meal,
I found my mid-day snack difficult to honor consuming all three. It was easy
to grab some fruit or a veggie, but those are only carbs. And by mid-day I often
craved a little caffeine fix. Since it is best to not drink more than two cups
of coffee a day, I would have one cup for breakfast and save the other for this
yummy mid-day snack. This shake offers a good balance of protein, carbs, and
fats.
In the blender combine:
1 cup of Soy Milk or Skim Milk
2 scoops of Whey Chocolate Protein Powder
2 teaspoons of instant coffee, or a shot of Espresso
1 tsp of Vanilla extract
1 cup of ice cubes
Blend and enjoy.
Tip: You can
pre-make this shake and refrigerate then pour into an insulated
thermos, so it will be ready to enjoy mid-afternoon.
